2016 TAWGS Officers Finalized

TAWGS final meeting for 2015 ended with another fabulous Pot Luck dinner format filled with good eats, great conversation and 2016 officers elected.  Chris Newell accepted the nomination for President leaving the VP position open.  Jim Mowder will continue as Treasurer and Sherry Reed will remian our Secretary.  Don Taliaferro will work with Diane Gruver to transition into the newletter editor.

Officer Elections Postponed until November

Officer elections for 2016 were postponed as the only nomination for Presidency with drew his name.  We need your input, nominations and participation. The larger the crowd, the more impact you will have on the start of next years goals. We will be welcoming back our existing Treasurer, Jim Mowder and Secretary, Sherry Reed, but still need to resolve the Presidentcy and Vice President nominees.

Side Note: Don Taliaferro has agreed to step up and relive Diane Gruver as the Editor of The Lily Pad Newsletter.  Don is a relentless contributor to TAWGS and is greatly appreciatred.  I hope Diane will remain on board as an advisor.  Contact Chris at This email address is being protected from spambots. The 2106 Topeka Area Pond Tour committee was formed at last months meeting and will be meeting next month (TBA) to discuss and review the current applications and process for next years Pond Tour. We already have 5-6 ponds that showed interest in next year and we need to schedule a day to go meet and greet the individuals requesting their Pond be on the Tour. The 2016 Garden Show Committee has been formed and again we will be meeting soon (TBA) to help design, coordinate and test run this years water feature. Lots of preparing and footwork is required with local vendors/suppliers to make the 2016 Garden Show display a success. We need your input and help. This years will be same as last with Topeka Beautification Association, Ward Mead /Old Prairie town and TAWGS teaming up to help drive home this years theme - "Movies" For more information on either of these Committee's please contact Chris Newel at 785-633-4854.

Club Meeting & Eye Opener Continues

At last months meeting Jamie hancock helped our group focus on where the memebrs want to take the club in 2016.  At Septembers meeting, Jamie will have tallied the August re-vision results that should help us in establishing a more focused approach to creating a membership drive and attracting new members.  So whether you are a current member or thinking about joining us in the future, we encourage your support and participation.
