TAWGS on TV with KTWU Sunflower Journey

The 2016 Topeka Area Pond Tour was not only the 25th Annual tour marking the events Silver Anniversary, but a community success and a blast from the past for the club and the clubs first ever pond recipients Lee Wright and Alice-Eberhart-Wright.  Lee and Alice won thier pond in a raffel and after numerous volunteer hours (some sweat equity) and donations from local suppliers, the first pond was up and running.  When visiting them for the first time after learing they wanted to be on the this years tour, it was so fun to see the transisition and maturity the pond has taken over the years.  It's was one of the most talked about ponds on the tour and has transformed into the most beautiful tranquil setting.

This months meeting, for the most part, was a grand experience and success as Dave and Mary Horner were our hosts and guest speaker.  They made it very clear the pool was open and to bring a swim suit.  Only one person took them up on that offer (your fearless President) and they were right, the water was magnificent with crystal clear, chlorine free water.  They also provided an awsome meal with pulled pork, baked beans, sweets and drinks.  Everyone else brough a dish that made the whole spead, sinfully delicious.
